We create e-books in all four of the popular e-book formats and in the formats for comic books and graphic novels.
Your simplest and cheapest solution is to have us format your creation for upload to Smashwords. Then they can deal with the hassles of submitting your work to the various online e-book retailers.
If you are looking to submit your work to each e-book vendor by yourself we can provide you with the product that will work for that vendor. We can point you in the right direction for upload to these places. Please note that you will experience more headaches with Apple than with anyone else. At last report it will also cost you $99 to get your hands on everything you'll need to successfully tailor your e-book to the Apple version of the epub format. We can start you with the basics of what you'll require, but after that you're on your own when it comes to Apple.
Something that authors need to keep in mind is that due to the limitations of electronic reading devices their work will not always appear exactly as it looks in printed form. There are dozens of e-reader devices on the market and each one handles e-book files differently. The best way to think about this is to consider how web pages are displayed differently by the various web browsers. An e-book is not a print book.
Pricing
Our rates are a modest $25 per hour for text-based works and $50 per hour for graphic novels. (If you are willing to go with .cbz or .cbr for your graphic novel or comic book the rate reverts to $25 / hour.) On a standard novel or non-fiction work we average 30 pages [approximately 15,000 words] an hour based on the original manuscript.
In "flat rate" terms that works out to $100 for 60,000 words without graphics/images or any special formatting. If you want an accurate "flat rate" quote you'll need to provide us with a sample of your work and total word count.
